The Cromwell scent smells terrible. What is your favorite/worst Casino scent?
I went to the Cromwell for the first time when they re-opened. I was excited to go, because it seemed like a cool little spot. I walked in and couldn't stand more than a few minutes. The scent smells like some kind of cheap body spray... absolutely intolerable. I like the smell of Flamingo, Harrah's, Bellagio... pretty much all of them are good.
hi there I just bought a candle and it smells just like how I remember the Flamingo smelling like, everything but the cigarettes. I was wondering if anyone knew what scents they have for the casino?
My Google search led me to find that the scent is called “Asian Garden,” and a company sells it for $40/4 oz. That’s pretty steep. Has anyone found a dupe for that smell? Edit: I also learned that if you email them and ask for a sample, they’ll send it to you free of charge.
I'd just like to shed some insight on how Caesars is handling the Covid pandemic. I've been an employee for Caesars for over 5 years now. My job consists of going between all 9 casinos on a daily basis so I get to see the operations of each casino behind the scenes. It's unsettling to me how few people realize how this company had originally planned on handling the city's response before the mandated shut down. Caesars was intent on staying open after many competitors announced they were shutting down in an effort to keep people safe. It was clear we were attempting to poach business from competitors as the higher ups were gleefully bouncing around bragging about the opportunity to instill brand loyalty and pump their numbers up. We reassured thousands of people that we would be open and were not shutting down. "But don't worry!" they said, "We have new safety protocols to keep everyone safe!" These measures to keep people safe were shutting down every other slot machine and limited hours in a restaurant. They did not enforce social distancing just encouraged it. There were no masks, no enhanced cleaning, and no provided PPE for employees at any point before the shut down. During the shut down they naturally required a select few security employees and surveillance/maintenence people to stay on. They turned off the AC in the casinos and due to the immense rush of a last minute, mandated shut down (my boss called me 2 hours before the announcement), things were rushed and left half-assed or blatantly ignored. You can imagine the fun smells coming from an uncirculated, hot casino when things aren't cleaned properly. Furthermore, the employees required to work were given forced schedules and denied any time off. The way Caesars works time off now is that you need to accrue time off by working. A lot of these people had capped out on their paid time off and were not allowed to use it so they could start accruing more which limits the overall paid time off they're allowed to take this year. Those who were laid off or furloughed were not given any reassurance that they would still be paid and instead were required to sign a waiver stating you'd like to use your paid time off until it's out before having to file for unemployment. I know my department strongly urged myself and my coworkers to opt for this which felt worse as we watched companies like Wynn/Encore announce they were paying their full time employees their wages throughout all of this. Coming back without any vacation time was bad but thinking we were going into this about to take a big pay cut for an unforeseen amount of time was much worse. Nobody knew of the stimulus package before that so many people burned up all their vacation time they had earned for the year. Coming back started with a phone call. The call instructed us that if we did not feel safe we could take 30 days to decide yes or no before our positions would be replaced. We were told because of this call we would lose our unemployment benefits as we were declining work and the company would stop paying our medical while furloughed. Coming in was a sense of relief. Masks, temperature checks, everyone being taught how to clean and use proper PPE procedures. They strictly enforce social distancing to employees in back of house. Everything seemed to be in place. Then you head out to the casino floor, watching as crowds of people shoulder to shoulder well over the 50% capacity we were promised, flooded in without masks. Drinking, smoking, yelling in our faces. It felt as if nothing had changed. All these safety protocols in the back of house disregarded the minute you step onto the floor. Throughout the back of house there's plenty of signs stating front of house employees MUST wear the Caesars brand masks or a disposable surgical type. I asked if I would be allowed to bring in an N95 mask of my own since maybe about 10% of customers were wearing masks and of those 10% maybe 5% were wearing them properly. I was directed to the sign, only the cloth mask and these disposable surgical masks were allowed in front of house. Back of house employees are able to wear custom masks as long as they were work place appropriate. I've been told from security there is over $200,000 worth of plexiglass sitting in storage at the Flamingo that was never set up. I have not verified that is true but they brought it up on their own volition without me asking. These new mask enforcement mandates are a joke. It sounds great until you see the "...unless eating or drinking (and apparently smoking)." So basically everyone in Vegas right? People walking around in droves with masks around their chins and an empty cocktail glass in their hand. You stop and ask them to put their mask on and of course... "But I have a drink!" All of these protocols never hold up when it comes to actually enforcing them. The reduced labor resulting in forced, increased hours, coupled with a low morale from feeling helpless and forced back into an unsafe environment has run its course. This isn't political, I understand the need for our economy to stay afloat. I know people want a sense of normalcy back. Nobody has trained for this scenario but we have tried and tested methods of doing things right that this company continues to neglect or fails to reinforce.
Rebecca and I had never cruised before. You know how wives can be... she dropped less and less subtle hints over the years that she really wanted to go, and that I should start saving money for it. She told me I should spring for that family friendly one. The one with the cartoon mouse. But since I was the one paying for it, I decided we should go with a deal I found on a membership warehouse travel website. Looking back I wish I had just paid the up charge and dealt with all the animated characters surrounded by screaming children. I booked what sounded to me like a fairly nice cruise that was suppose to visit Cuba and Cozumel. But I got an email at the hotel a few hours before we were supposed to board ship. It said something like, due to diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba, your ship has had to change one of it's destinations. They gave us gratuitous apologies, and a $500 refund on our tickets . I had never been so happy to have my vacation ruined. The ship was the biggest boat I had ever seen, but that's not really saying much. From the outside it looked impressive floating there alone in port. Once I got on board though, I could see it was old. And judging from how it didn't match what I had seen on the commercials, it was not one of their mega ships. You know the ones with laser tag arenas, Broadway shows, and water slides? Rebecca was instantly disappointed. Some friends had told us to put our phones in airplane mode to avoid international roaming charges. They said that all those ships have wifi, and you can talk over messenger. That way you could avoid the horror story of having a thousand dollar phone bill lurking in your mailbox when you get home. We got to our coffin, I mean our cabin. There were two tiny single beds with paper thin mattresses on either wall. And a water logged port hole half filled with dirty seawater. It was a nonsmoking room, but you could tell it hadn't always been. Anything plastic had that yellowed nicotine residue you find in ancient casinos. "Oh, this romantic." I smiled seductively. "We can pretend we are being naughty at summer camp." "Shut up." Rebecca struggled her oversize suitcase through the tiny door as I pressed myself against the far wall to give her room. When you have an angry woman on your hands, and she has all the exits blocked, your only options are diplomacy, or distraction. "Oh hey look! A catalog of all the things we can do on our new itinerary." The freshly printed brochures sat neatly on the foot of the bed. The plain paper didn't match the other printouts glossy finish. I imagine some poor intern stayed up the night before reprinting all those pages. We putted around the ship. Bought ourselves a pair of those novelty drinks that come in a pineapple. The paper straws in our drinks turned to mush before we could finish. Rebecca wound up pouring half her drink down her shirt and soaking her pants in the lounge chair. We watched the waves roll by, and I attempted to avoid getting my head bit off. "So, we are going to southern Mexico instead of Cuba. There goes my cigar smuggling empire." I flipped through the brochure. "Let's see... they have a dolphin encounter." "No, those places keep dolphins in tiny swimming pools for tourists." "OK, glass blowing workshop?" "No, it's Mexico. It's gonna be way to hot to anywhere near a furnace." Rebecca said struggling to get the remaining alcohol out of her pineapple. "Mayan ruins?" "OH! Chichen Itza? I went there on senior trip. It was amazing!" Finally after struggling to try and get her to have a good time, I had found a winner. "Uh... no. That one is near Cosumel, we are headed down near... Belize. This one is called Chac... chucky... Chac-cho-ben. Apparently that means... 'the Place of the Red Corn.'" The excursion to the ruins cost $150, but we had our discount so I splurged a little bit to make her happy. We tried to have fun, and drank a little bit on the way. Watched a ventriloquist act and what seemed like high school production of some fan fiction of Guys and Dolls. We went to bed, after having the steward put the beds together, and when we woke up, the ship was already making its way into port. The first thing we noticed was the smell. The water in the brochure had been crystal clear. But what greeted us at the pier looked and smelled like diarrhea. Apparently the seaweed blooms had somehow gone bad, and mountains of rotting plant life washed up on the picturesque beach every day. We held our noses and scurried past the welcome sign and triggered the most elaborate tourist trap I've ever seen. The little brightly colored shops huddled up in a small shopping plaza past customs at the end of the pier. A row of parrots and flamingos danced to entice children to get their parents to pay to go through the rope bridge aviary that snaked through the trees above us. Some Mayan entertainers danced and did acrobatics around a pole, as a mariachi band played in the swim up bar. Due to her desperate need of chachkies, Rebecca wandered off to shop a while. With everything to see, I admit I lost track of time. Before I knew it, we were late to meet with the van that was going to drive us out to the ruins. I power walked through the crowds calling for Rebecca, and asking very friendly people who spoke broken English if they had seen her. I gave upon trying to find her and headed toward our pickup location. I was going to tell them that I had misplaced my wife, when I heard... "There he is! Sorry, thanks so much for waiting." For the first time in recorded existence Rebecca had shown up early to an event. And I was the one that was holding up the show. Clearly she was very excited to go see those piles of rocks in the jungle. Our guide Esmeralda cheerfully greeted me and lead us down a gravel path to a hidden parking lot. We hopped in the nondescript van, where another family sat in the bench seats. As we exited the tourist trap, we passed several gates in high fences topped with razor wire. Apparently a lot of effort goes into keeping those precious tourists safe. To keep us entertained Esmeralda knelt in the front passenger seat as we drove along the boring jungle roads. She showed us pictures of animals and trees that could be found in the surrounding bush. And taught us enough about the Mayan language to try and sell us some fancy bracelets with our names on them. I don't know exactly what happened. Suddenly the van was rolling on it's side and the whole world turned dark green. I saw sweet Esmeralda with her laminated pictures tumble half way out the driver side window. A long trail of blood shooting out of the driver’s mouth. I closed my eyes, but I’ll never forget her screams as she realized the van was crushing her… and the she was gone. We lay there stunned sinking the muck of some pool warm ooze. Several men jumped up on the side of the van. I was able to get a hold of one of the men and tried to fight him off, but I was still buckled into my seat. The man slipped away as Rebecca yanked me back down in her panic. The young father behind me cradled his wife’s head and begged her to wake up. The young lady’s neck had been twisted at an awkward angle in the crash, and their daughter was screaming. Rocks beat at the remaining windows and they shattered down in a rain of tempered glass. Then the strange men poked at us with long metal spears that had needles on the end. They jabbed the needles deep into our arms and legs. Immediately I could feel the numbness of some sort of poison taking hold. The men backed off, and struggled to get free. I pulled out my phone to call 911, and my fingers went numb as I remembered the phone was in airplane mode. My tongue got dry, and I fell over into the driver’s lap. I lost consciousness looking up at his dead eyes and broken jaw. I awoke. Which I will say did come as a pleasant surprise. I was going to die right there in that van. I opened my eyes, and blinked at the darkness around me. Several soft points of light twinkled far above me. My hands were tied to a stone carving of a jaguar above my head. As I sat there I realized I could feel someone pressed up against my back. The smell of Rebecca's shampoo let me know it was her. “Becca, you awake?” I asked as I rocked us back and forth. I listened carefully for any response, but all I heard in the darkness was her gentle breathing and a strange slurping sound coming from the ruins around us. I held my breath there in that dark place. My eyes began to adjust and I thought I could see long white shapes slowly sliding down the bricks. “Oh FUCK this!” I said as I tried to stand, my legs were all pins and needles and I flopped back and forth on my knees. I was able to work the rope that hung in the stone carving loose. And Rebecca and I tumbled to the floor as one of those things rared up inches from her face. I kicked it away but there was another, out my reach and slowly easing up her leg. Rebecca moaned as slime coating the strange worm glistened off the flesh of her leg. The end of the thing started pulsating slowly, and I could hear the teeth digging and chewing. Rebecca lay there in a daze, not responding. I kicked at the worm things that tried to inch closer to me, one even dropped from the ceiling onto my calf. The slime off it’s skin started to numb my lower leg. I knew at that point we were meant to be food for these things. Those men, could watching from the shadows, saving that young father and his little girl for tomorrow’s meal. I shook Rebecca as hard as I could, we had to get free, we had to get out of there. I got no response. I clawed at the ropes around my wrists as the chewing things crawled closer. I could see them writhe under Rebecca’s shirt. The numbness in my hands made it impossible to work the knots. And the rope was to strong to break by hand. In my panic only one sickening idea came to mind. I wasn’t going to be able to drag her out of there, and I need to somehow, get out, get help. I stood up, dangling Rebecca’s hands on stone floor beneath me. The starlight from the open shaft above us made the outline of her dainty fingers barely visible. With a scream of disgust at what was planning, I raised my heel and brought it down hard on those thin fingers. Rebecca’s eyes shot open and she started to wail as I brought my heel down again on her hands. Breaking the delicate bones of her wrists and arms, I pulled at the rope. The worm things crawled up her neck and latched onto her cheek. That horrible chewing and sucking sound came out of her mouth as it ate through her face. I stopped my wife’s hands into bloody ruins as she looked up at me and screamed. I got the rope free, and hooked my hands into the stone jaguar’s mouth. Then I pulled myself up. The white creatures wriggled across the floor where I had stood just a moment before. And Rebecca's screaming started to waver and fade to sobs, then silence. I struggled up the shaft, inch my inch. Pressing my legs against one wall and my back against the other, I climbed in the darkness. Every muscle of my body quivering from strain I finally found myself at the top of a plant covered hill. I stood there in the middle of the jungle, and spun around. I didn’t see any signs of civilization. I checked my pocket, and thankfully my phone was still there. I clicked it on, and swiped airplane mode off. No signal. The moon was near the horizon, I guessed which way was east, and struggled through darkness of the jungle in search of that long highway where everything had gone wrong.

I had figured it out; more or less, the fine print in these powers of mine. The most memorable moment in recent memory is the place I always flash back to. Every time, I appear just moments before that point, with everything except my memories returning to the way they were. I'm still not sure why it works this way, shouldn't memories technically be like, chemicals in your brain or whatever? I dunno, I'm not a scientist... but hey, time travel powers, in my experience, seem to break reality. Anyway, the "mom" incident... I remember it vividly but the moment of crazy emotion that came from stopping the robber and saving the cashier seemed to be where I'd pick up from after that point. I tried flashing back to the first incident a lot after that, but no dice. I sorta regret it, not being able to hard reset back to the beginning, but reliving the same day over and over gets old. So what came next? Well, let me tell you, when you can jump back in time to a point where you aren't tired, you can get a lot done. Kind of. Nothing I do after that point sticks except for in my head, but it meant I could learn stuff and go back without wasting time. That's when I knew I had my ticket, if I was gonna go through with this super hero business, I had to train my brain! Still, books are expensive and we lived in the J District, near the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality of life, but there was still once good place to turn... the local library! And by local, I mean it was a 60 minute ordeal to get there by train, and as a jobless teenager, train tickets were pricey, so it was back to the drawing board. Scratch-offs weren't the ticket, they were the same every time... but that got me thinking, what about lotto? Well, at that point, the whole thing would be a huge mess, firstly I didn't have a bank account, secondly that takes time - you aren't just a millionaire tomorrow with a winning ticket. I needed funds fast! I started small, and tried my luck at a run-down local "casino", more a hole in the ground with some dug up novelty slot machines. Barely functioning neon signs, scuffed art of flamingos and sunrises, you know the deal. What came next was losing all of my money a dozen times over, but when you can go back and try again, its more a matter of persistence before you get your way. Just as it was getting boring, I remember sitting there, head tilted to the side, half asleep... the reels slowly clicking into place... 7 7 7 WINNER WINNER WINNER WINNER! Hype! Like, real hype. Now wide awake I got that big dopamine hit and watched as the machine spat out dozens upon dozens of quarters, and yeah I know its chump change in the grand scheme of things, but after gathering it all up I felt the adrenaline hit like it hadn't in a few cycles... Thats when I thought, "Right now... remember right now... remember this feeling." Then, risking it all - uh, sorta, I closed my eyes and... WINNER WINNER WINNER WINNER! I did it. For the first time, I took a manual "snapshot" of where I was and flashed back to it. Hitting the jackpot must've been a good trigger for me, and it made sense, I'd just made more money than I'd ever handled in my whole life... A whole two hundred and fifty dollars. Still, this solved all my immediate problems, and it wasn't enough cash to be a huge pain, something I'd learn much later in life. But for now, I was riding high. I figured this was enough excitement for one day. Well, okay, flashing back to that sweet gratification was too tempting. WINNER WINNER W- you get the idea. That night I ate like a king. A king willing to settle for pizza. I had this grand idea to get the whole family together for dinner, but no dice, mom "hates pizza" and Harold was "trying veganism". Was this the lamest excuse to flash back? Maybe, but I'd do worse later down the road. Unwilling to scarf a whole pie myself I started back from before and got myself a few ala carte slices then settled down for the night. That morning, I hit the streets. Two fifty minus some for pizza was more than enough to get me a train ticket. Just about. "Fifty six dollars?!" yeah, a bit more than I thought, as was life in relative poverty, a poor man's poor because being poor is expensive, and there was only one train that runs through J District, usually packed shoulder to shoulder. But there I was, on my way to the brighter lights of C District. I remember getting giddy with excitement, thinking all the sweet martial arts manuals and stuff they gotta have at the library. Feeling the excitement, I thought I'd experiment right then and there - "Remember... the sights, the sounds, the SMELLS of the train... remember..." closed my eyes, focused, flashed back. "Remember..." like a charm! I was getting the hang of manually setting where I'd flash back to. At the end of the train ride, I made a note to flash back to the END of the ride for the future, then made my way to the library. I quickly realized I had no idea what to look for, and that I didn't have the patience to read an entire book in one "sitting". Besides, if I was gonna make the most of it, I'd need to take it home, read it, study it, practice the maneuvers... Goddamn, I was dumb! Settling for a copy of "Hibiki's How to Kick Ass Without Even Taking Names!" volume 1, entirely off the title and the artwork of a dude throwing a sweet jump kick on the cover, I made my way home, making sure to KEEP my return point the end of the first train ride, just in case Hibiki-sensei's book was a bust. ...Yeah, it was a bust. A whole bunch of crap, with a mess of admittedly cool artwork, but nothing that seemed to make any sort of sense, even for a complete beginner like me. Well, no harm no foul, library books are free and I had "all the time in the world", except for real. Flashing back off the train I'd try again, this time doing my quality assurance on site. Turns out, learning karate from a book is way harder than it sounds. Out of sheer stubbornness I'd keep reading though, even moving my return point to save time. Every few hours I'd feel myself nodding off, remembering my page, and flashing back. Through sheer unwillingness to call this whole trip a loss, I wound up completing a several hundred page manual on the principles and history of "Yeet Kune Do" only to realize something on the walk back to the station. There was a FREAKIN' KARATE DOJO DOWN THE ROAD!! At this point I was bitter, and though I wasn't physically tired - it still wasn't even noon, I was absolutely drained mentally. Even when you got infinite time to do it, marathoning a book thick enough to call an improvised weapon was a hassle. "Okay. Tomorrow." I was burnt out, it was time to head home. I sat down on the train, it was time to get back, much later than last time. I set my return point here to avoid having to make the walk, and then... "EVERYONE ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW!" a trio of men wearing balaclavas started waving guns around. Could I REALLY not go a single day without a gun incident!? "Oh, screw this!" I remember quipping, then flashed back... Into the same seat three seconds ago. "Aw, shi-" "EVERYONE ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW!" I put myself in a situation I couldn't just flash out of. I screwed up. Big time. Tomorrow, I had said about Karate lessons... if only I knew how long it'd be until then.
Just got back from Vegas and wanted to share my experience for anyone coming since there always seem to be questions every week about similar stuff. Stayed at the Luxor for three nights Wed-Sat this past week on an mlife offer with Resort Credit and Freeplay. Staff was very nice at Luxor and we stayed in a Tower Premium Room with 2 queen beds. Room was very nice actually. We were on the 2nd floor and didn't have much of a view, however, this is probably the nicest room I've had in Vegas. To give some reference, I usually only stay at the lower end strip properties since I'm a low-roller and that's what I get comped. I've stayed in a Flamingo Fab Room, Excalibur Royal Room, Bally's basic room (Jubilee?), The Rio (Never again.), and the Linq. The only property that was close was the Flamingo. I will say that the Luxor's room isn't as nice as the Go rooms at Flamingo though. We were very happy with the room for a comp room though. If you do stay at Luxor just know this: You have to walk. A lot. I like MGM's Casino and the walk to there even though it's only a few properties down is about 20-25 minutes and you have to walk through Excalibur unless you take the tram. All and all though, wasn't a bad place to stay and would definitely take it over Excalibur by a mile. We hit up three buffets for brunch on our trip: The Aria, Bacchanal at Caesars, and Wicked Spoon at Cosmo. The Aria buffet was free from our myvegas points. (Facebook/Mobile game where you can earn some free stuff for your Vegas trip. Mostly buffets and free nights but there are some shows there too.) It was pretty good. Food all looked fresh and tasted good. Food is pretty standard buffet fare though which is where the other two buffets really shine. Purchased the unlimited drinks add-on for $19.99 for two people. We had margaritas and they were pretty good for 4 of them for $19.99, but beware, they are pretty slow bringing out drinks. I think brunch normal price is $28.99 which is a fair price I think for this buffet seeing as worse buffets charge that much. Friday we went to Bacchanal on a Groupon, $88 for brunch for 2 with two mimosas each. Simply put, this is the best buffet in Vegas I have been to. (I have not eaten at Wynn or Sterling Brunch though.) Worth the price. Mimosas were very good. They were not all orange juice like some places make them. The food though was all on point. Slab bacon and Chicken and Waffles were delicious. Meats from the carving station were good as well. Chilaquiles were amazing too. Decent selection of seafood, Lobster Eggs Benedict was a favorite. My wife is Vegetarian and she had a very good selection of stuff to eat here and she was very happy with her choices. Saturday we tried Wicked Spoon and we were really glad we did. We did the unlimited drinks and brunch buffet which worked out to about $115+tip. The service here was the best I've ever had any any buffet. Wife and I got through about 5 glasses of champagne each along with a 6th to go. He just kept bringing them out and was very fast to refill our water and clear our plates. Food was very inventive and delicious. Pork Pozole Sope and Gordon Ramsay style eggs were excellent which is saying a lot since buffet eggs are usually gross. The best thing I ate all trip though had to be this truffle pasta they had out. Normally when you get "truffle" dishes they're just made with truffle oil or something, however, there were decent sized chunks of actual black truffle shaved onto each dish. I love truffle and it was sooooo good. Now, where this buffet lacked was the carving station. I had some chewy beef that was the worst of the three buffets. However, I'd definitely go back here again even at the steep price since the drink service was so good and that truffle pasta was amazing. The other two places we ate were VegeNation and Primrose. Vegenation is a vegan restaurant downtown. Probably best Vegetarian/Vegan place I've eaten at. Had the meatball sub which was good and my wife says they're spaghetti and meatballs are delicious. She strayed from it this time and got the Veggiechanga which was a vegan chimichanga. She wasn't too happy with it. It was filled with a lot of meat substitute and not as much veggies as she thought it would have. She regretted the choice the whole trip since she loved the spaghetti and meatballs last trip. Primrose is a new restaurant in Monte Carlo/Park MGM. I had the Filet and frites and it was delicious. Decent size filet on top of bone marrow and mushrooms. The frites were ok, definitely not as good as Bouchon's, but good. My wife had the tomato pasta and it was very good. Kind of spicy with perfectly cooked pasta. Drinks were good and my wife ordered some lavender infused drink that was very tasty. All and all would recommend, dinner for two with drinks ended up around $120+tip. One thing to mention though is the Monte Carlo is a mess right now. So much construction going on and the entrances and exits are very inconvenient. We went and saw Brilliant at the Neon Museum downtown and it was a pretty good show. Show lasts about a half hour and they give you some time after the show to snap pictures with the signs lit up. If you like vintage Vegas stuff I'd definitely recommend it. I think tickets were $26/pp for the show and you could buy a ticket with a tour of the museum for $42/pp. Few other quick things: Go to the Cosmo's Chandelier Bar and order a Verbena ($16). It is the coolest cocktail I've ever had. You sip this cocktail after eating a flower than makes your tongue tingle and it is delicious. Even if you're not a big gambler I suggest you check out MGM and play Sigma Derby and/or Fortune Cup. They are mechanical horse racing games that are a fun way to kill time and you're money doesn't disappear instantly. Sigma Derby user quarters and Fortune Cup is a more updated version with a minimum bet of $1. The D on Fremont also has one of each machine and I saw the Fortune Cup machine at a few other casinos like the Cosmo. Hit a quinella for $150 on the Fortune Cup machine at the MGM and my wife who is not normally a gambler had a fun time picking horses to win. I also realized I don't think I like Fremont that much. Gambling is better downtown, but the whole atmosphere just isn't for me anymore. I think between the amount of non musician 'performers' and homeless beggars I saw and smelled on Thursday night I'm going to hit up the mob museum next trip then skip Fremont from now on. TL;DR Buffets: Bacchanal >= Cosmo > Aria, go see Brilliant, Luxor's Tower Premium room is an excellent choice for a budget room, Vegenation has great vegan food, Primrose is good but Monte Carlo is a mess, Play Sigma Derby and Fortune Cup, maybe skip Fremont? EDIT: Oh, almost forgot. The new Esports Arena at the Luxor looks awesome if you're into that sort of thing. $25 for unlimited play from 12PM-12AM. The setup there looked really nice. Thinking of trying to get my gaming group (Who are also really into Poker) to taking a trip for gambling and gaming.
The sense of smell is also a trigger for Las Vegas memories. Just about every casino smells a little different when you cut through the smoke and whatever else makes the property special.
